In late 2021, Jeff Hardy’s third tenure with WWE concluded when he walked out of a match during a live event and subsequently refused rehabilitation, leading to his release. His brother, Matt Hardy, stated at the time that a drug relapse did not trigger Jeff’s departure.
Following the incident, WWE sought to bring Jeff back by offering him induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame. However, Jeff declined the proposal and joined his brother in AEW after the expiration of his 90-day non-compete clause.
On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Jeff was asked about the possibility of The Hardy Boyz’ induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame.
Jeff shared his previous experience with WWE’s Hall of Fame offer, noting that it felt most appropriate to be inducted alongside his brother. He said,
“For sure, man, and when I denied it the first time, it just didn’t feel right, and going in there without Matt. I mean, I cried after that phone call. I was just thinking about all the really cool moments I’ve given to the pro-wrestling world. I’m so proud of it, but it didn’t feel right at all. So, I just wanted to wait. If I did do this, I’m definitely doing that with Matt. You know, it would be a Hardy Boyz thing. I just want one ring. I don’t want two rings.”
