Jey Uso Retains Intercontinental Title, Xavier Woods & Bron Breakker Heel Turn Notes For WWE RAW

High tension in the land of the WWE Intercontinental Championship title hunt lately as this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW saw a few more wrinkles in some stories.

First and foremost, Jey Uso interrupted a promo from Seth Rollins (who himself interrupted CM Punk’s promo to help allude to their future clash and give The Visionary a chance to badmouth The Second City Saint). It was an awkward transition that may mean nothing at all, but it could always be the first seed planted in an eventual feud between Rollins and Uso.

Uso then retained the Intercontinental Championship over Xavier Woods, who has been on a mission as of late to prove his doubters wrong — likely himself more than anyone — by winning his first singles gold. Failing to accomplish his task this week only continued to fuel his frustrations, as Woods refused to shake Uso’s hand after the match when the champion showed him some good sportsmanship respect.

Speaking of being the bigger man, it seems that is not going to be the direction of Bron Breakker will be taking, despite his more babyface actions last week. This week, following the title match, The Unpredictable Badass proved that moniker correct by spearing Uso out of nowhere, before taking out both Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods for the sake of it, too.

This segment ended with Breakker posing with the intercontinental title and the three veterans laid out, establishing that Breakker has not had the change of heart it seemed he had, and Woods will likely be even more driven than ever to go down a darker path.

After the commercial break, Jackie Redmond tried to get a word with Breakker and ask him to explain his actions. He said, “This week, it’s spear city.”
