We have a new WWE Intercontinental Champion.
Jey Uso was successful in his bid for the belt by defeating Bron Breakker in the main event of this week’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW from the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.
Uso had won a series of matches over the past month to earn himself the title shot, wherein Breakker was confident he’d be able to keep up the streak of his family having the edge over Uso’s. That overconfidence arguably proved to be his downfall, as there were moments in the bout where Breakker was lackadaisical in his pinning attempts, even wasting time just to taunt Jey by doing some push-ups.
Ultimately, after a spear of his own, followed by a splash, Uso captured his first singles gold with an absolute eruption from the crowd in attendance.
