Week 2 of WWE NXT Great American Bash looks to be another rather stacked show as several matches were announced for next week’s episode of NXT.
It was previously established that Oro Mensah would get a shot at the NXT Championship after attacking Ethan Page several times in recent months and scoring some unofficial pinfalls over the champion. Those two signed a contract in Ava’s office to make it official. Page seeks to put Mensah in the rear-view, while Mensah is looking to get revenge on Page for his attacks earlier this year.
The NXT Tag Team Championship will also be on the line as The Rascalz discussed how MSK (Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz) never lost their tag titles. This has been a discussion point for a few episodes, but they finally decided to actually request a tag title match. Axiom was more than happy to sign off on it without even looking at the contract or asking Nathan Frazer about his opinion, much to Frazer’s dismay at how hypocritical Axiom’s been acting, doing the same things that he was criticizing Frazer of recently.
Another title is also up for grabs as Kelani Jordan will defend the NXT Women’s North American Championship against Tatum Paxley. This came about after a few weeks of Paxley wanting Jordan to play dolls with her, with Kelani rejecting her. Wendy Choo continues to be lingering in the background, creeping on them, so watch out for her to make some appearance in this segment next week.
Following Gallus interrupting Joe Hendry’s concert and laying him out with a guitar, Hendry is fired up and wants to prove that he can hang with even the best in NXT. He’ll be looking for a measure of revenge against the Gallus boys when he goes face-to-face with Joe Coffey next week.
Lastly—at least as far as what’s been announced so far—Trick Williams will go up against Pete Dunne. This was the result of Williams asking Dunne for some advice, only for Dunne to twice tell him to “figure it out.”
That puts next week’s lineup currently at the following:
