16-time World Champion John Cena knows his career in the ring is coming to an end but wishes he could remain a WWE Superstar forever.
Cena has been open about the end of his wrestling career. The 46-year-old recently stated that he’ll be retired from in-ring competition before he turns 50.
In a recent interview with Extra, Cena was asked about what role in acting he’d love to play in one genre forever. He said,
“I knew this before you even finished the question. WWE superstar. I wish I could do that infinitely, in perpetuity, forever. I wish I could go out in the middle of that ring, in front of a live audience on Raw or SmackDown, there is no energy like it.
“It’s coming. When you seriously have to take a look at yourself and realize, ‘Hey, I haven’t yet lost my fastball, but I’ve lost a few miles per hour off that fastball,’ I think you have to face the truth sometimes. It is a young man’s game and time is undefeated.”
Cena’s most recent match took place at WWE Crown Jewel 2023 and saw him lose to Solo Sikoa. The former WWE Champion doesn’t plan on an executive role in WWE after retiring.
