Fans are excited to see who John Cena will face in his farewell tour, and his father has shared who he’d like to see the WWE icon wrestle.
On a recent edition of the “Live Q&A on Backstage Pass” podcast, Bill Apter recalled his conversation with the elder Cena. He said,
“I asked him if he had a choice of his son choosing either GUNTHER or Cody [Rhodes]. He said he thinks GUNTHER would be the match because he’s got that Greco-Roman classy style, and John’s style with his style would complement each other very, very much.”
Cena Sr. appeared on WWE programming in 2006, when he was slapped by Edge, and in 2007 when he was punt-kicked by Randy Orton.
Though not as famous as his son, the elder Cena has appeared as a manager on the independent scene where he’s worked as ‘Johnny Fabulous.’
