John Cena has a lot of respect for his former WrestleMania rival The Rock but believes the Final Boss takes the silver medal to Roman Reigns.
On a recent edition of the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Cena appreciated The Rock’s success in the 90s, but believes Reigns has surpassed his cousin. He said,
“[The] Rock would be second [greatest of all time] ’cause [The] Rock did the same thing in the ’90s but this is the one time I can say this, ’cause [The] Rock is always number one. Roman’s numbers have been better than Dwayne’s.”
Cena faced The Rock at WrestleMania 28 and WrestleMania 29 and their feud was addressed during the epic climax of the main event of WrestleMania 40 (Night Two) earlier this year.
Cena and Reigns locked horns multiple times in WWE, including at WWE SummerSlam 2021 in a match that saw Reigns emerge victorious.
At WWE Money in the Bank 2024, Cena shared that he will retire from in-ring competition in 2025, ending a 23-year tenure on the main roster.
Several wrestlers, including The Miz, Randy Orton, and RVD have said they want to face John Cena. Neither The Rock nor Reigns have put themselves forward yet.
