Heading into WWE SmackDown, Kevin Owens was set to team with a mystery partner against A-Town Down Under. As the prize fighter was in the ring, opposite Grayson Waller & Austin Theory, his tag team partner was announced to be…. Ricky — a local indie wrestler who the commentary team made fun of for his body hair, calling him the long lost son of George “The Animal” Steele.
Owens explained that his true intended tag team partner couldn’t make it this week, but Ricky will do.
Immediately after that, Owens was informed that his partner was able to make it, actually. This prompted Owens to toss Ricky to the side after a stunner so his real partner could come out – Randy Orton.

Together, Owens and The Viper scored a pinfall victory over the former tag team champions to put them back in their place — at least, temporarily.
