We recently conducted an exclusive interview with Olympic Gold Medalist and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle.
During the interview, he spoke with comedian Casey Salengo about a variety of topics, including how he is dealing with constant pain as a result of his wrestling career. We will be releasing the full interview later this week.
On how Angle is dealing with the constant pain as a result of his wrestling career:
“Eventually down the road, when you have less of a disc in between each vertebrae, they’re going to end up fusing together naturally anyway. And that’s what happened to my neck this past couple of years. My neck, I don’t have any more disc. That’s all vertebrae. It’s bone. And I’m in excruciating pain all the time and there’s nothing they can do for me. I was going to try to get rubber disc replacements, but since my neck naturally fuse together, I don’t have any disc to replace.
So, I’m kind of in a crappy position right now, but I mean, I learned how to deal with it, and I do a lot of maintenance on it. I try to keep it as mobile as I can. And, uh, I lost about three inches in both arms, from atrophy, my neck, and I lost a big muscle right in my chest. I have a big line right here. And it’s ridiculous, man. Your neck controls everything in your body, and you know, I’m suffering dearly, and I’m paying the price for the career I had.“
