A full breakdown of the results from this week’s WWE NXT episode will give you the ins and outs of what transpired, but there are two things that happened on this show that leave grounds for speculation of what the future has in store for these characters worth highlighting and dissecting.
First up, there was a backstage segment where Lexis King showed considerable respect to Oro Mensah. They seemingly bonded over their fathers, with King mentioning how his (Brian Pillman) was never around, but if he was, he’d want King to be the bigger man and offered a handshake to Mensah, who said to make his dad proud.
Interestingly, in their match, King put his feet on the ropes for some leverage, but decided to step down. He said, “I’m not winning like that.” Immediately after, he walked straight into a pinning combination from Mensah, who did put his feet on the ropes, cheating to score the pinfall, leaving King flabbergasted. Mensah celebrated with Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend, as Meta-Four laughed it off, while King looked distraught over his loss.
Second, there was another backstage segment where Karmen Petrovic and Brinley Reece were getting warmed up for their tag team match against Wendy Choo and Rosemary, with Petrovic asking who that girl was at ringside for the match between Eddy Thorpe and Ashante “Thee” Adonis that took place last week. Adonis then approached them and several other women in the vicinity, hitting on them (as well as Kendal Grey, Carlee Bright, Tatum Paxley and others). Originally, it was a typical failure on Ashante’s part, with everyone rejecting his advances.
However, later on, during the tag team match, Adonis came out to again give his rose to seemingly the same blonde girl in the crowd. For some reason, Petrovic jumped off the ring apron and turned her attention entirely away from Reece, arguing with Adonis about why he was out there.
This led to Reece succumbing to a two-on-one situation, leading to Rosemary scoring a pin on her and costing Petrovic and Reece the win.
