It’s been several months in the making, but after much stalling on WWE’s behalf (and dodging in kayfabe from Logan Paul’s side of things), LA Knight will officially get a shot at Logan Paul’s United States Championship at WWE SummerSlam on August 3, 2024 at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Cleveland’s own (technically Westlake, Ohio) Paul may head into the match with the hometown advantage, but Knight will be the fan favorite as he attempts to capture his first championship in WWE, except for the Million Dollar Championship he held briefly in NXT.
In a heated contract signing segment moderated by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, Knight and Paul talked more trash about each other, with Paul insulting Knight’s appearance, saying he looks like a hillbilly Aladdin, an extra on Sons of Anarchy and Larry the Lobster. Knight retorted back with a shot at Paul’s ego, saying every time they’ve been face to face, he’s “owned and cooked” him.
Eventually, after being coaxed into signing the contract, Paul went on the attack and had a temporary scuffle with Knight, who almost was able to hit the BFT, but Paul narrowly escaped.
