While Matt Cardona was working as Zack Ryder in WWE, he debuted his ‘Z! True Long Island Story’ YouTube series.

During a recent appearance on the “Wrestling with Freddie” podcast, Cardona revealed his reasoning for starting the show.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On his spot in WWE at that point: “I had been in WWE for a few years and of course that was my dream to be there, but it wasn’t my dream to just be a guy on the roster. It’s cool, it’s awesome. I can say I’m a WWE superstar, but I didn’t feel like I was a superstar.”

On his reasoning for starting the show: “I’m always trying to achieve more goals, not that I’m not satisfied with what I’ve accomplished, of course I am, but I’m a big dreamer just like you guys and I feel like we only live once and YOLO right? But you have to go for it. If not now, when?”

Steve “The Brooklyn Brawler” Lombardi was a recent guest on the “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” podcast to discuss a variety of topics, including a potential WWE Hall of Fame induction and his legacy in professional wrestling.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On a possible WWE Hall of Fame induction: “I think the Brooklyn Brawler has more contributions, more accolades to be in the Hall of Fame. I believe that being in the Hall of Fame is their choice, I am not losing sleep of not being in the Hall of Fame, but I believe that there’s no way in life that one day I won’t be in the Hall of Fame. I just hope it’s not when I’m dead … I’ve done so much and the one thing that no one could ever take away from me is my memories.”

On his legacy in wrestling: “I had a story book life that came true, I loved everything I did, if I change my life in any way I wouldn’t change one thing. I would not change one thing, and the legacy is determined by every different person in a different way and obviously you have an opinion of my legacy, WWE has an opinion of my legacy, but all I know is I have more contributions and I have done more in the company than a lot of people.”
