WWE SmackDown Superstar Naomi has shared a sneak peek at her role as part of the upcoming ‘Queen Of The Ring‘ biopic movie.
The film will tell the story of Mildred Burke (Emily Bett Rickards, Arrow) who was one of the most revolutionary female wrestlers of her era.
On Instagram, Naomi shared a photo from the film in which she will portray Ethel Johnson.
Johnson wrestled from the 1950s to the 1970s and was the first African American women’s champion in wrestling’s recorded history.
During her career, Johnson held the NWA Women’s World Tag Team Titles with June Byers and challenged Burke for the NWA Women’s World Title.
Johnson died of heart disease on September 14, 2018, in Columbus, Ohio, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021.
Other names involved in the film include Kamille as Byers, Toni Storm as Clara Mortensen, and Britt Baker as Debbie Nichols.
