WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque came out during the WWE Bad Blood 2024 pay-per-view event to announce the attendance of 16,092, which goes down as the 60th sell out this year and the largest gate for an arena show in WWE history.
But he also announced something that will be a new feature at the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view events going forward.
Starting with this year’s event coming up on November 2, 2024 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, there will be two matches featuring a Champion vs. Champion scenario where the RAW and SmackDown World Champions for both the men’s and women’s divisions will face off. Neither of their titles will be on the line, but a new Crown Jewel Championship will be up for grabs, featuring 50k diamonds and symbolizing who is the best among the World Champions.
Essentially, the “battle for supremacy” concept of the rivalry between RAW and SmackDown in previous years that has been used for things like Night of Champions, Bragging Rights and Survivor Series has been adapted in another new twist.
Also notable in this segment, GUNTHER called out Bill Goldberg, who was ringside. GUNTHER ragged on Goldberg, saying he hopes he’s a better father to his son Gage than he is a professional wrestler. Goldberg jumped over the security barricade and was ready to go after The Ring General, until Sami Zayn ran out to attack the World Heavyweight Champion, resulting in a brawl that had to be separated by officials, security and RAW General Manager Adam Pearce. Triple H raised Goldberg’s hand to end the segment.
