Cody Rhodes is the quintessential Rhodes family member, according to Paul Heyman, who believes WWE’s top star has surpassed his father Dusty.
In a recent interview with CBS Sports, Heyman praised the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion who returned to WWE in 2022. He said,
“Cody Rhodes is the bearer of the family name that drives the most interest and is now the most famous. If you would have told someone that three years ago, they would have thought you were nuts.”
Heyman argued that when Cody returned to WWE, the question among many was ‘How can you see Cody and not think of Dusty Rhodes?’
Now though, Heyman believes Cody’s success means that Dusty is now known for being Cody’s father, rather than Cody being known as his father’s son.
At WrestleMania 40, Rhodes became Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, an accolade his father never reached during his time in the ring.
Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship this weekend at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event against Kevin Owens.
