During a recent appearance on the “Developmentally Speaking” podcast, former WWE NXT Superstar Quincy Elliot revealed that he suffered an injury back in 2022 and never told anyone about it.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On hiding an injury in 2022: “Oh man, that was one of the most stressful times in my life because I was supposed to wrestle on Halloween Havoc or do something physical, but at the time, I got injured. I got injured, and I had a match in October against Xyon Quinn, but I got injured. I used to ride a moped, I got injured in an accident. I found out I was hosting pretty much the night before the match or whatever, and I was injured, and I hid it from the company. In October, I hid it from the company, which wasn’t the most mature thing to do, I will admit. But I was like, I worked hard for this opportunity, I’m not just gonna throw it away. So I got injured, and that was a bummer, but the exciting part about that is I got to pretty much express myself on Halloween Havoc, do different costumes and things, and it was a fun time, but it was also stressful because I’m like, I just want to be able to wrestle and show the world what I can do.”

On WWE finding out about it: “It was very frustrating. I remember at the time during rehearsals, Xyon slammed me, and I reacted, like, ‘Ah!’ They figured out I was hurt, and I was like, ‘Damn.’ But it ended up working out, everything still ended up working out, but I knew that if I was able to wrestle on Halloween Havoc or do something physical, maybe show myself off a little more, it would have been much more fulfilling, but I’m grateful for the opportunity either way.”

On whether hosting Halloween Havoc helped WWE officials believe in them: “Honestly, no. After Halloween Havoc, I had to go have surgery on my foot, so it was gonna be a couple weeks before I could get back and do anything. So I was mentally frustrated with the world. At the time, six weeks, on paper, that doesn’t seem like the longest time ever, but NXT is on the go. It’s running every week. Six weeks is a long time to not be on television. So I ended up off TV for a while for that, and then a bunch of drama went down, and I was just all over the place, just circling, trying to get that momentum that I had back.”

Hammerstone says he’ll make the most out of a TNA Wrestling-WWE NXT crossover if he’s involved in it.

Speaking on a recent edition of “The Mark Hoke Show,” the TNA wrestler commented on the possibility of appearing on WWE NXT. He said,

“I went into this year saying, ‘whatever comes my way, I’m going to try and knock it out of the park.’ I’m not expecting the world to be handed to me. I don’t care what I’m asked to do. Whatever it is, I’m going to go in there with my working boots on do my best job.”

He continued, “If that means I’m one of the guys who gets an opportunity at NXT, then I’m going to treat it like it’s the most important opportunity in the world.”
