Raj Dhesi faced off against Randy Orton at WWE Battleground 2017 in a Punjabi Prison match, and he recently shared his thoughts on Vince McMahon not staying to witness it.
The former Jinder Mahal overcame Orton to retain the WWE Championship during the event’s main attraction inside the notorious structure, and he mentioned feeling disrespected by McMahon’s absence after the match on Maven’s YouTube channel.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On Vince McMahon leaving before the match ended: “It’s a one-man audience, basically we’re all just wrestling for Vince. When me and Randy [and] Great Khali came back, the ‘audience of one’ wasn’t there. He left. That was a little bit disrespectful. Even Randy was like, ‘Was he upset?’ And Michael [Hayes] was like, ‘No. He just left.’”
On his relationship with McMahon: “Earlier in my career, I always avoided Vince. I was always afraid of him. [But] during this time I got to work with him closely.”
During a recent appearance on the “The Wrestling Classic” podcast, Grayson Waller declared he has some major goals for the upcoming year.
After a successful 2024, during which he teamed up with Austin Theory to become SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Waller shared that he aims to achieve greater heights in 2025.
Waller said, “I know that I always have to be chasing, I always have to have a chip on my shoulder. Otherwise, I’m not at my best. I could be happy with what I’ve done, I’ve done huge things. I won a championship at WrestleMania. But for my drive and for my mindset, I gotta’ want more, and I gotta’ be like, that wasn’t enough. So 2025 I think is gonna be a very big year for Grayson Waller.”
He continued, “Even coming up now, with Survivor Series in Vancouver, that’s a huge show, and just being at these shows and watching and going, ‘That’s where I want to be next year,’ that’s kind of the energy that I’m giving. Having that big show coming up, I want to pay attention, I want to watch, I want to watch OG Bloodline versus The Bloodline, and I want to be like, that’s where I want to be next year, and I want to find that drive and that kind of passion to chase that in the next year.”
