Randy Orton has confirmed reports that he has signed a new contract with WWE, extending his tenure with the promotion for years to come.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Orton had signed a five-year deal with the promotion that will keep him under contract until late 2029.
Speaking to MARCA, Orton was asked about a potential pursuit of the WWE Championship and confirmed that he has re-signed. He said,
“I know you’re alluding to Cody and his title and maybe I’d like to do it later, but I don’t think I should rush it. I’m going to keep doing this for a long time. I just signed a five-year contract extension and I don’t have to rush it. I’ve got all the time in the world as far as I’m concerned. I feel great. I feel healthy.”
Despite missing considerable time in 2022 and 2023, WWE opted not to extend Orton’s previous contract with WWE in favor of reaching a new deal.
A source told Fightful that given how much has changed since Orton signed his last deal in 2019, it was fairer for all sides for a new deal to be signed instead of an extension.
Randy Orton is now set to challenge GUNTHER for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Bash in Berlin in the first WWE pay-per-view event in the country.
