John Cena returned to WWE during the RAW premiere on Netflix earlier this month to kick off his retirement tour and declare himself for the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match.
Unfortunately, Cena hasn’t been featured on television since then to promote Saturday’s Royal Rumble 2025 pay-per-view event in Indianapolis, IN.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Cena has been busy filming Matchbox, inspired by the toy brand.
In WWE, it’s generally expected that part-timers make at least one television appearance during the week leading up to their scheduled event.
However, Cena has not been announced for tonight’s episode of SmackDown, which would be his final chance to appear on TV before tomorrow’s pay-per-view event.
Meanwhile, the focus on WWE television has predominantly shifted towards CM Punk.
