More has come to light about WWE’s reported plans for John Cena in 2025 as the wrestling icon prepares to say farewell to the squared circle.
Cena will retire from in-ring competition next year and shared this news during this year’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view event in Toronto, Canada.
Pwinsider is reporting that a match with Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship has been considered for Cena at WrestleMania 41.
If Cena were to win the match, it’d make him a 17-time World Champion, surpassing Ric Flair’s recognized 16 title reigns.
The report also states that these plans hinge on The Rock and whether he intends to face Rhodes, as previously teased at WrestleMania 41.
Meanwhile, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that while Logan Paul has requested a match with Cena, this will not happen.
Furthermore, WWE is considering a World Championship match for Cena at WrestleMania 41, which will take place in April 2025.
