As WWE gears up for the debut of Monday Night RAW on Netflix in January 2025, questions linger about the show’s duration.

While many anticipate RAW will revert to its three-hour format, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has shared new details about the ongoing behind-the-scenes discussions.

According to the report, the specific length of RAW episodes remains undecided, with continued talks between WWE and Netflix.

Dave Meltzer noted, “The impression we were given more than a month ago on RAW was that they don’t need to have a set time on Netflix.”

This implies that WWE might embrace a more adaptable method, modifying episode lengths according to creative needs and weekly storyline developments.

However, Meltzer noted that this adaptability is still being debated. While a three-hour format is a strong possibility, Netflix’s absence of broadcast time limitations allows WWE to shorten or lengthen episodes as necessary.

Meltzer also pointed out similar uncertainties regarding Friday Night SmackDown, which will continue airing on USA Network.

He said, “USA could use a third hour to help with the overall ratings of the station.

As SmackDown is set to be USA Network’s only wrestling program in January, the network may advocate for an extended runtime to help sustain viewership.

The inaugural RAW episode on Netflix, planned for Los Angeles, is intended to draw key Netflix executives and demonstrate the show’s potential on the streaming service.
