This year, WWE has seen the departure of several major Superstars, including Becky Lynch and Ricochet. To mitigate potential exits, WWE has taken steps to secure key talent.
Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and Chad Gable have signed new contracts, and recent speculation regarding Natalya’s possible departure prompted WWE to take swift action to retain her.
As we previously reported here on eWn, Natalya and WWE began talks back in May. The main hold-up was that she wanted to ensure the outside projects she had been working on were part of the deal. Natalya’s new contract is said to be for multiple years.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Natalya’s new deal was finalized just as her previous contract was about to expire.
Sources familiar with the situation stated that the WWE recognized the risk of losing her and made a solid offer to keep her on board.
With an impressive tenure of almost eighteen years, Natalya is the longest-tenured female talent in WWE history. Randy Orton and The Miz are the only ones on the current roster with similar uninterrupted longevity.
Natalya has not been seen backstage since signing her new contract. It’s possible she is taking a brief break or awaiting a strategic return to in-ring action.
