WWE embraced the Netflix era with the debut of Monday Night RAW on January 6.
There has been much discussion about the length of RAW, as early reports suggested a return to the traditional three-hour format. Some believe it might be slightly less than three hours.
The Netflix premiere episode lasted just over three hours, while this week’s episode lasted two and a half hours.
WWE CCO Triple H previously noted that they plan to be adaptable to the show’s duration each week and that two and a half hours is the ideal length for an episode.
As you know, WWE RAW no longer needs to adhere to a strict end time as it did on television.
Pwinsider is reporting that even with the reduced runtime, WWE held several dark matches for the live crowd.
WWE wanted the January 13th episode of RAW to conclude “early enough on West Coast time to allow whatever talents and staff scheduled to take red-eye flights home the ability to do so.”
The report further states that “Netflix allows flexibility, but the company is still going to maintain their usual structure and timing” in addition to “work towards maintaining their internal clock where they want the show to end.”
