WWE embraced the Netflix era as Monday Night RAW debuted on the streaming platform earlier this week.

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shared details regarding the changes made to the Netflix premiere of WWE RAW this past Monday.

As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, Becky Lynch was originally planned to return on Monday, and Penta El Zero Miedo was also slated to debut, but those segments were cut.

Meltzer stated that WWE trimmed approximately twenty minutes from the end of Monday’s RAW.

He said, “They cut about twenty minutes out at the end from the original run the day before.”

RAW had a runtime of about three hours, including commercials. WWE CCO Triple H recently stated that RAW’s runtimes on Netflix would be “flexible,” allowing for potential variations in duration in the upcoming weeks.

Meltzer speculated that WWE “wanted a nice clean show” for RAW’s highly anticipated Netflix premiere, which took place in Los Angeles and featured many notable celebrities in attendance.

This might explain the absence of big angles or heel fights during the show.
