Ronda Rousey has expressed gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with Paul Heyman during her tenure at WWE and acknowledged his influence on her creative pursuits.
Despite the notable achievements during her time in WWE, Rousey’s departure in August 2023 was accompanied by criticism of her overall experience.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Rousey emphasized a positive aspect of her WWE tenure, highlighting Heyman’s encouragement to pursue projects beyond her wrestling career. She said,
“He’s one of the few people who really encouraged me creatively. He showed me I’m so much more than just what my body can do. That’s how so many people see me–as an athlete, as a fighter. It’s all about performing, being on camera, focusing on what I can do physically–but it was different with Paul.”
Rousey’s debut graphic novel, “Expect The Unexpected,” will be launched via a Kickstarter campaign on July 25, exemplifying her continued dedication to creative endeavors outside of professional wrestling.
