WWE expects the feds to find dirt on the former Chairman as part of the ongoing investigations.
Vince McMahon, the former Chairman of WWE, has been under federal investigation even after stepping down from his executive position at TKO.
The investigation centers around allegations of millions of dollars paid to women following accusations of sexual misconduct. Janel Grant, a former employee at WWE headquarters, filed a lawsuit against McMahon in January 2024, alleging coercion into a sexual relationship and accusations of sexual trafficking and assault involving McMahon and John Laurinaitis.
Ronda Rousey departed from WWE following her match against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam 2024. Subsequently, she has openly voiced her dissatisfaction with the company, making several critical statements about WWE.
In her book “Our Fight,” Rousey shares detailed accounts of her time with WWE and offers candid perspectives on her tenure with the billion-dollar promotion. She uses strong language about Bruce Prichard and John Laurinaitis, expressing her frustrations by telling them to go “f*** themselves.” Additionally, Rousey alleges that WWE engaged in discriminatory practices against women.
In a recent interview with CBS Sports, Rousey stated that WWE can only improve in McMahon’s absence.
She said, “I think anyone’s better than Vince McMahon. The only place you can go is up. I really enjoy Triple H and working with him, and honestly, I haven’t been watching, but I saw something from Natty [Neidhart] saying that they had a card recently that had just as many women on it as the men. That’s what I would really like to see, the women equally represented with not just matches on the card, but time on the show. I feel there’s no place they could go but up and I’m really, really happy for all the women still there and thriving under the new regime. I think there’s, yeah.“
In July 2023, McMahon was served a federal search warrant and subpoena related to hush money allegations. The federal agents were reportedly seeking “documents related to any allegation of rape, sex trafficking, sexual assault, commercial sex transactions, harassment, or discrimination”
