During a recent appearance on the “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” podcast, Sheamus commented on a longstanding rumor that he worked as a bodyguard for U2’s Bono prior to joining WWE. He said,
“No, no. I worked at a nightclub called Lillie’s Bordello. It was one of the top nightclubs. All the stars would go in there. Bono was in there all the time. Guggi, who is a friend of his. I just made sure no one wrecked his head.”
He continued, “He was in the main VIP area. There are two areas. They have this woman called Valerie at the door and she would vet everybody going in, then you have the main club, which is really small, then you have the members bar, and then the library upstairs. Bono would just go into the members bar and I was one of the guys who made sure he didn’t get his head wrecked.”
During a recent appearance on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Bully Ray commented on WWE RAW’s debut on Netflix and his belief that it “planted a flag” for the company and Triple H.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On WWE’s opening video for RAW: “WWE has just put their flag firmly. If you didn’t think it was in there strong and firm before, it is cemented in as of last night. This company is bigger than it’s ever been and it’s unstoppable at this point. The only people that can stop the WWE are the WWE. Also, Triple H firmly planted his own personal flag in the middle of that ring. ‘My name is Paul Levesque. I run this f**king ship. This is my show. This is my creative. This is my everything. This is no longer my father-in-law’s vision.’”
On not liking Cody Rhodes being ringside for Rock’s promo: “It’s almost like a ‘kneel before Zod’ mentality… Would John Cena ever be sitting in the front row for the Rock? Randy Orton? Steve Austin? Triple H? Would any former WWE Champion be just sitting there with a forced smile on their face while The Rock put them over? And, oh, by the way, ‘Tell Mama [Rhodes] I said hello.’ Would any of them be put in that position?”
