Former WWE Superstar Shelly Martinez believes that the promotion is seeking to erase her work and contributions from the company’s history.
Martinez competed in WWE as the vampire Ariel from 2006 to 2007 and also served as a valet for Kevin Thorn in the revived ECW.
On a recent edition of the “Ring the Belle” podcast, Martinez argued that WWE is trying to be rid of her. She said,
“WWE has tried to erase me. It took them a really long time to even acknowledge me. They usually only do it around October, which makes sense, but there was a long time when they didn’t at all. I wasn’t on their alumni page or anything. There are people who’ve done way worse than I did.
“Oh, what? I’ve got a big mouth, so you kicked me out? Big deal. There are people who’ve done shady things, cost the company money, and yet I’m the one they’re trying to erase. That’s when I realized, dude, it’s all a work. It doesn’t even matter.”
In the past, Martinez has claimed that a confrontation with Dave Bautista led to her being released in May 2007 as WWE sided with the Animal.
Following WWE, Ariel joined TNA where she was part of LAX. She left in 2008 after being denied a pay rise and to star in an Italian thriller movie.
