We have a new United States champion as Shinsuke Nakamura defeated LA Knight at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 to capture the title.
Nakamura was absent for most of this year, taking an on-screen break from April 22nd until November 15th. He had wrestled a handful of matches on live event house shows over those months, but was not used in any fashion even after being drafted to Friday Night SmackDown.
Upon his return, Nakamura had a renewed edge to himself and a darker image, which appears to have done the trick, as the commentary team put over on commentary how that is supposed to have created enough mind games that threw LA Knight considerably off his game in recent weeks.
This will be Nakamura’s third reign with the United States Championship, having previously won it July 15, 2018 at Extreme Rules and January 27, 2019 at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.
