Tonight’s season premiere of NXT for WWE Week started off with a bang as the NXT Tag Team Championship was on the line, but with a few tweaks to the originally scheduled programming.
Last week, The Rascalz won a No. 1 contender’s Triple Threat match (against Hank Walker & Tank Ledger and Gallus) to earn the title shot. However, as Trey Miguel was forced to undergo surgery, Ava had announced on social media and the start of this episode that The Street Profits were taking their place against The Supersonic Duo.
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins were arguably ready to win the tag titles when The Bloodline attacked both teams. The match ended in a no-contest with Jacob Fatu, Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga standing tall, sending a message to their rivals and the tag team division as a whole.
It remains to be seen what repercussions will come out of this, as both teams will undoubtedly be looking for a measure of revenge that could be factored into next week’s episode or Friday Night SmackDown. Stay tuned to eWrestlingNews for any information on any updates!
