Nobody loathed the Right To Censor faction more than Charles ‘The Godfather’ Wright, despite the WWE veteran being a part of the faction.

The group lasted from 2000 to 2001 and satirized the Parents Television Council which was leading a campaign against WWE at the time.

Speaking on a recent edition of the “Insight” podcast, Wright shared his unfavorable memories of the pro-censorship faction. He said,

“On a shoot, nobody hated it more than me. As much as Ric Flair is Ric Flair, The Godfather is me and it was just you took it away from me and it just like oh. It took the air out of it and I was done. I just I did my best and RTC just the music alone had serious heat. I did my best but that was the only time in wrestling that I really wasn’t happy and I was just waiting for it to come to an end.”

Wright’s involvement saw him leave his pimping ways behind and object to the overly-sexualized portrayal of women in wrestling at the time.

After WWE emerged victorious in a lawsuit filed by the Parent’s Television Council, the group came to an end following WrestleMania 17 in 2001.
