The Miz is one of several WWE Superstars to have learned under the tutelage of John Cena and hopes he’s done the WWE icon’s teaching justice.
In a recent interview with “SHAK Wrestling,” The Miz reflected on his WrestleMania 27 adversary and how he learned from the work of Cena. He said,
“[WWE] tries to create moments. No matter how small of a role or how big of a role, you always try to create a moment that people talk about. Cena’s incredible at that and I’ve learned a lot from him … I hope I have done his teachings justice.”
Later in the interview, The Miz added that he hopes to face Cena as part of the 16-time WWE World Champion’s upcoming retirement tour.
Cena announced at Money in the Bank 2024 that 2025 will be his final year in the ring, ending a 23-year in-ring career as a WWE Superstar.
John Cena’s most recent match for WWE saw him team with The Miz & R-Truth to beat The Judgment Day on the post-WrestleMania 40 episode of RAW.
