WWE veteran The Miz may relish in getting the fans to boo him, but the former World Champion has shared his one issue about being a heel.
For the majority of The Miz’s career, he has worked as a heel and has had the majority of his championship wins while getting the fans to hate him.
On a recent edition of Cody Rhodes’ “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast, The Miz addressed his heel work and the one setback. He said,
“I love being booed. It’s crazy that some people don’t like it. The only thing I don’t like is maybe my T-shirts don’t sell, right? My merchandise doesn’t sell, and that’s a big thing when you’re negotiating contracts and stuff. It’s like a big metric, and it’s like, well, I’m a bad guy. My job is to make them hate me so much that they don’t buy my T-shirts and stuff. But you want them to buy your T-shirts but can’t stand you, right? So, I mean, I like being a heel. I like being a bad guy.”
The Miz is currently working as a babyface on Monday Night RAW, though he admits that this face turn has been driven more by his tag team partner. He said,
“But the only reason I am a babyface right now is because of R-Truth. R-Truth just makes anyone he’s around, like, the biggest babyface. Because he’s just funny, charismatic, entertaining, and just fun to be around.”
On last week’s episode of WWE RAW, The Miz and Truth lost to A-Town Down Under, and the frustrated look The Miz gave Truth suggests the A-Lister’s days as a face may be numbered.
