WWE Friday Night SmackDown heads to the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida next week on August 16, 2024.
Currently announced and scheduled for next week’s episode are three matches and a championship celebration.
On this week’s edition of WWE SmackDown, #DIY defeated Pretty Deadly and The Street Profits took out A-Town Down Under to earn the right to face each other next week. The winners of that match will be declared the new No. 1 contenders to The Bloodline’s WWE Tag Team Championships. For those wondering, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa were holding those titles on this episode as Cody Rhodes confirmed Jacob Fatu is injured, but there was no official announcement as to whether or not Tonga Loa is being subbed in to replace Fatu as a champion via The Freebird Rule or if this was just a temporary thing.
Grayson Waller will face Kevin Owens as a result of Austin Theory blurting out the idea to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis when A-Town Down Under was complaining backstage.
Just ask!

Naomi will also fight Blair Davenport as a result of a scrap the two had on this episode. This came about when Davenport joined The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) in a brawl opposite Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Naomi came out to help even the numbers, reigniting her feud with Davenport that has been simmering for months.

Lastly, Nia Jax’s scheduled championship celebration that was originally advertised for this week’s episode was pushed to next week. Tiffany Stratton will be setting this up (in kayfabe) in honor of Jax. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven went out of their way to talk trash about the idea, so we can look forward to them getting involved next week to ruin the festivities.

- Naomi vs. Blair Davenport
