As we reported on Thursday here on eWn, Janel Grant has agreed to delay her lawsuit against WWE & Vince McMahon at the request of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).
The reason for this is because the United States government has joined Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis and WWE as an “interested party.”
Earlier this week, a filing was made in the lawsuit by the US government. The filing notes that Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Mortazavi from the Southern District of New York has joined the case as counsel for the United States.
It was added that four sealed documents were submitted to the court on Thursday on behalf of Mortazavi.
You can read the public filing below:
To the Clerk of this Court and all parties of record:
In addition to counsel already of record, please enter my appearance as counsel for the United States of America, Sarah Mortazavi, Assistant United States Attorney.
Respectfully submitted,
Damian Williams
United States Attorney /s/ Sarah Mortazavi
