The WWE Women’s Championship has changed hands, but it isn’t Nia Jax’s scheduled challenger for the night (Naomi) who walked out with the title.
Jax successfully defended the women’s title over Naomi after some help from Candice LeRae and Tiffany Stratton causing two separate diversions. LeRae was directly interfering in the match and was offset by Bianca Belair, while Stratton came out afterward to cause a ruckus with a potential Money in the Bank cash-in.
That was a ruse, wherein Stratton used the commotion to nail Naomi with the Money in the Bank briefcase, allowing Jax to capitalize, hit her Annihilator finisher, and pin Naomi to retain her title.
However, right after, Belair kept the fight going and was able to hit a KOD on Jax, laying out the champion.
Seeing her chance, Stratton seized the opportunity and decided she would cash in her Money in the Bank contract, following that up with her Prettiest Moonsault Ever and pinning Jax to win the WWE Women’s Championship.
This is Stratton’s first title on the main roster, having previously held the NXT Women’s Championship.
