Tito Santana – ‘I’m Grateful To Vince McMahon For The Career I Had’

Vince McMahon’s legacy may have changed significantly in recent years, but Tito Santana will always be grateful for the work of his ex-boss.

Santana wrestled for WWE from 1979 to 1980 and later returned in 1983 and would capture the Intercontinental Championship in February the following year.

On a recent edition of the “Wrestle Binge” podcast, Santana spoke about McMahon and shared why he is grateful to the former WWE Chairman. He said,

“Vince made all the decisions of where we went up in the ladder you know. I was just grateful for my career. I realized that it wasn’t a shoot because if it was a shoot I wouldn’t have been the champion for sure… I was athletic. I was good for our business. You know, I was a good entertainer, I was a good worker.”

Santana also became a two-time Tag Team Champion in WWE and was inducted into the promotion’s Hall of Fame in 2004 on the eve of WrestleMania XX.
