Fans annoyed at Todd Grisham’s flat reaction to the WWE return of Christian can blame Vince McMahon, according to the former commentator.
In early 2009, Christian returned after close to four years away but Grisham’s underwhelming reaction of “It’s Christian” left a lot to be desired.
On Twitter, Grisham explained that he was instructed by McMahon to not give an excited reaction to the return of Christian.
This explanation caught the attention of AEW President Tony Khan, who was baffled as to why McMahon wanted the subdued reaction.

Christian remained with WWE until 2021 and would debut for AEW that same year where he is a former TNT, Trios, and Tag Team Champion.
Christian Cage currently has a guaranteed AEW World Championship at his disposal thanks to winning the AEW All In Casino Gauntlet match.
