Tony Chimel – ‘I Love My Job Working At Trader Joe’s’

Former ring announcer Tony Chimel may not be traveling the world with WWE anymore, but he is more than happy with his Trader Joe’s job.

On a recent edition of the “Behind The Turnbuckle” podcast, Chimel spoke about his current role in wrestling and his job at the grocery store chain. He said,

“My main job now is I work at Trader Joe’s grocery store…I love that place and I love working there. I also work for AEW a couple of times per month. I love working there as well. That still keeps me a little bit on the wrestling scene and a little bit on the road and stuff like that. I don’t travel the way I used to which I’m very happy about because I don’t want to. I love both gigs now that I’m doing.”

While best known for his role as an announcer, Chimel also worked as a producer in WWE and remained with the company until November 2020.

Chimel’s sole match in WWE came on an August 1999 edition of SmackDown when he defeated Howard Finkel to earn the right to announce on the blue brand.
