A fierce rivalry has resulted in an unsanctioned match between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WWE Elimination Chamber: Toronto.
During this week’s episode of WWE RAW, Zayn issued a challenge to Owens for a match in Toronto, but General Manager Adam Pearce informed him that he was not medically cleared to compete.
After Zayn refused to leave, Pearce granted him the match for the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event, but with the condition that it would be an unsanctioned bout — implying that there are no rules and anything is permissible.
Fightful is reporting that Owens was advertised for WWE RAW last night but did not show up. The reason for his absence remains unknown.
