Next week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown (January 17, 2025) takes place at Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California, and we now know some of what’s on the lineup for the show.
It was advertised that Solo Sikoa will return. He was absent from tonight’s show, with the commentary team calling attention to how he’s been AWOL since losing to Roman Reigns on Raw. Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga were trying to attack Paul Heyman and fought it out with Cody Rhodes and Jimmy Uso throughout the night.
After Los Garza defeated Pretty Deadly and Motor City Machine Guns beat A-Town Down Under, a match between Angel and Berto against Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin to help further establish who gets the next shot at the WWE Tag Team Championship.
During Tiffany Stratton’s promo about cashing in her Money in the Bank and winning the title, Nia Jax, Bayley, Bianca Belair and Naomi all came out to put in a bid for themselves to be the next in line for the WWE Women’s Championship. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made an impromptu No. 1 contender’s match, which Bayley won by pinning Naomi. As a result, she will get her match against Stratton on next week’s SmackDown as well.

That puts the currently advertised lineup for next week’s SmackDown at:
- WWE Women’s Championship Match: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Bayley
- Los Garza (Angel & Berto) vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin)
- Solo Sikoa returns
