WWE’s current head of production Lee Fitting was let go from ESPN amid several accusations of misconduct, it has been reported.
Fitting parted ways with ESPN in 2023 and would join WWE later that same year, replacing longtime WWE veteran Kevin Dunn in his role.
The New York Times is reporting that Fitting’s exit from ESPN came after several issues were raised about his behavior with female staff members.
Fitting is alleged to have said in a 2012 meeting that a female staff member could “open her throat” and would be good at fellatio.
In 2014, Fitting allegedly told a female staff member without a chair “I’ve got a seat for you right here,” while gesturing to his lap.
Fitting is alleged to have asked female staff for their hotel room numbers and reportedly often bragged about his sex life with his wife.
When approached by the Times, Fitting denied some claims and declined to discuss the reasons for his departure from ESPN.
Fitting’s exit in August 2023 came after over 25 years with ESPN, and he was reportedly escorted from the building by security.
In 2023, a formal complaint was raised against Fitting and after an investigation, Fitting was swiftly dismissed from the company.
One woman involved in the investigation told The New York Times, “It finally caught up to him” while another remarked, “I can’t believe it took this long.”
Fitting has received praise for his role with WWE so far. The wrestling promotion declined to comment when approached by the Times.
