Joe Tessitore made his WWE debut as the red brand’s lead announcer on the September 2nd episode of Monday Night RAW.
Tessitore teamed up with Wade Barrett to call the action on Monday’s show.
Tessitore could possibly move to WWE SmackDown, with Michael Cole and Pat McAfee taking over RAW duties when the show moves to Netflix in January 2025.
Tessitore has previously provided commentary for the NFL’s Monday Night Football and College Football Playoff games. He was hired by WWE President Nick Khan, who holds him in high regard.
Fightful Select is reporting that there was tremendous excitement surrounding Tessitore’s debut on RAW and people backstage acknowledged that there might be some challenges with the transition.
Additionally, WWE was satisfied with how things went and felt that Tessitore sounded great on the air.
