WWE started the program between Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa after Rhodes defeated AJ Styles in an I Quit match at the WWE Clash At The Castle 2024 pay-per-view event.
After the match, Solo approached Cody from behind, leading to a confrontation. The Bloodline then attacked Rhodes, but Randy Orton and Kevin Owens rushed to help him.
WWE has also been building a feud with LA Knight and United States Champion Logan Paul.
Dave Meltzer reported the following in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter regarding these two feuds:
“Regarding Rhodes vs. Sikoa and Paul vs. Knight, as things stand this week, both of those matches are earmarked for SummerSlam and not Money in the Bank.”
