Jon Moxley hates what AEW has become. They are going to change this company. If anyone isn’t onboard, they better get out of the way. They work for him now.
Adam Cole makes his way to the ring to talk. He gets right to the point. He wants to talk about MJF. If you want to fight evil, you have to fight it with evil. Trust is the foundation of every good friendship. Cole might be a lot of things, but stupid isn’t one of them. No one should ever trust MJF. He has terrorized this company for five years. All he cares about is himself. If he could describe MJF in one word, it would be fake. Everything about him is fake.
If you go on social media to insult him, he will act like he doesn’t care, but really he is crying in his hotel room. Everyone backstage is smiling and agreeing with everything he is saying. The AEW roster has the best wrestlers in the world. The young generation has so much potential and will carry this company. But it makes him feel sick to think about them looking up at MJF for a point of success. MJF thinks he is someone special, but everybody hates him. Let’s not waste anymore time. Why don’t they do this right here, right now? Show him what kind of man he is.
MJF’s music plays. But he does not make his way to the ring, as he is sitting at home with a glass of wine. MJF talks about trust. There are a lot of jackals in wrestling. Adam Cole stabbed him in the back for letting his guard down. He will never trust again. The man he is today is not his fault, it is his. This void he made is his. So, he will never get him in the ring. He will die with a void of unfulfilled vengeance. He can thank him later. Adam Cole tells him he can run, but he can’t hide. When he gets his hands on him, he will give him a beating of a lifetime.
Chris Jericho wants Mark Briscoe again after he cheated to retain the ROH World Championship. He wants to become a two-time ROH World Champion, just like Jay Briscoe. In reaction to that, Mark Briscoe says Chris Jericho says a lot of dumb stuff, like repeatedly mentioning his brother. He will regret that, as they won’t be having an ordinary match. It will be a ladder war! As for tonight, FTR is going to deal with Jericho’s boys.
The Outrunners appear to share a very intense handshake and pose off with FTR.
The Acclaimed have their promo interrupted by MVP and Shelton Benjamin, who imply they may need their services. Bowens tells them they don’t need any help, so MVP laughs at them before walking away.
The Young Bucks deny Private Party another shot at the AEW Tag Team Championship. Stokely Hathaway says it may have been different at WrestleDream had they agreed to have him in their corner. What they should do, is decide whether they should still be a team if they cannot win the titles at the next opportunity.
The Elite wants to mention how important today is on Kenny Omega’s birthday, who had to have some of his intestines taken out following their attack several months ago. They have a gift for him. It is a birthday cake! But the sentiment does not last long, as Jack Perry dumps a bunch of red meat all over the cake, before Kazuchika Okada wishes him “Happy Birthday Bitch!”. Perry tells Omega that whether he lives or dies, he really doesn’t care.
The BCC stopped this match with their interference. Several wrestlers on the roster tried to save The Conglomeration while The Elite looked on from the rampway, but nothing can stop this group. Jon Moxley tells the AEW roster that nobody is safe. This is about business. Orange Cassidy was the prime target of this attack. The Elite decided to walk to the back as others on the roster questioned their inaction.
Backstage, Daniel Garcia questions The Elite choosing not to do anything. Jack Perry gets in his face, and The Young Bucks tell them they want nothing to do with this.
MVP can’t say anything that will make more of a statement than what Shelton Benjamin did. As for Swerve Strickland, they should finish the conversation they started at WrestleDream. After the break, Swerve Strickland accepts MVP’s challenge.
Tony Schiavone reluctantly announces the arrival of Don Callis and his family. This is a press conference hosted by Don Callis. Last week, he acquired the services of Lance Archer. He has also seen Brian Cage right a wrong by bringing a title, the ROH TV Championship, back to the family. There is more good news coming. He introduced Kyle Fletcher and the new AEW International Champion, Konosuke Takeshita.
Don Callis tells us that he and Takeshita are going to take this title to every corner of the world. Takeshita tells all the wrestlers to listen up. If anyone wants this belt… c’mon, take it! With that said, Callis asks everyone to show some respect to Kyle Fletcher after his tough week. Fletcher says that all he has heard is “Why, Kyle, why?”. Everyone wants to talk about Will Ospreay when the Don Callis Family is having its biggest night. Why did he do what he did? Too bad. Don Callis tells us all we need to know is this family has never been stronger than today.
Backstage, Mariah May is frustrated with the lack of competition. AEW is where the best are afraid of The Glamour. Anna Jay appears from out of shot to get in her face. She tries to hit May, but accidentally hits Christopher Daniels instead.
