AEW Dynamite Results (5/15/2024)

#1. BCC’s Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley vs. Kyle Fletcher & Jeff Cobb – Winners: BCC

Takeshita attacks Moxley after the match, but Castagnoli makes the save for the BCC.

As Adam Copeland makes his entrance, the House Of Black blindsides and beats him up. Malakai Black takes Copeland’s wedding ring away before he passes out. Kyle O’Reilly attempts to make the save, but the numbers game is too much. They finish off Copeland with a vicious triple team involving a chair.

#2. [World Tag Team Championship Eliminator] The Young Bucks vs. Matt Sydal & Christopher Daniels – Winners: Young Bucks

Matthew Jackson tells Christopher Daniels he should have known better. They are trying to clear up the toxicity, and he is messing it up. They are the bearer of bad news tonight… they have to let him go. He’s fired. But don’t worry, he will get a severance package. And not to make this awkward, they have security ready to escort him out. They thank him for all the hard work. Meanwhile, Jack Perry pours some drink over Tony Schiavone for no reason.

Malakai Black accepts Copeland’s Barbed Wire Steel Cage match challenge, but if he loses, he must bend the knee to the House Of Black.

#3. Hook vs. Sebastian Wolf – Winner: Hook via submission

Hook calls out Chris Jericho, so he arrives with Big Bill and the FTW Championship. He hopes he learned some lessons from hitting himself in the face with a baseball bat. He wants to teach him a lesson that when he loses a title; he has to work his way up to a shot. After winning a qualification match, he may get his opportunity. Hook doesn’t like the sound of that, so he attacks Jericho, but it’s a 2-on-1. Katsuyori Shibata shows up to even the odds, which is enough to send The Learning Tree in to retreat.

#4. Swerve Strickland vs. Brian Cage – Winner: Swerve Strickland

Strickland hits Cage in the shoulder with a steel chair. Christian Cage appears with Mother Wayne on the stage, which is enough of a distraction for Nick Wayne to get behind Strickland for a low blow. While Killswitch holds Swerve, Wayne hits him in the head with a family portrait in a glass casing.

Christian Cage tells the champion he embarrassed his son, and now he is forced to embarrass him. Do you think his daughter is proud? He rubs the family portrait on his bloodied face. He took his blood this week, and next week it will be the AEW World Championship.

Backstage, Shibata wants a piece of Chris Jericho, which Hook accepts. Samoa Joe shows up to tell Hook he thought he was better than this. Shibata thinks Joe is too big to wearing a floral pattern.

#5. Toni Storm vs. Harley Cameron – Winner: Toni Storm

Will Ospreay and Roderick Strong have a face off backstage after agreeing to no physicality. Ospreay says Strong has never respected him, and the champion agrees, telling him he is a fraud and a coward. Will is going to take away the one thing that makes him important. At Double Or Nothing, he will show why he is on another level.

We have a contract signing in the ring with Mercedes Mone and TBS Champion Willow Nightingale. Willow begins by saying she respects her, but needs to know if she respects this title. It is the TBS Championship. It celebrates the legacy of professional wrestling on this channel for over fifty years. She is the face of TBS. When she smiles, nothing else matters. Her smile is her strength, and this title matters to her. She isn’t letting her walk in to AEW and take it away.

Mercedes Mone asks everyone to say hello to their CEO. Willow wants to talk about legacy to her? Money changes everything. It is a fact. Back in 2015, she was out here changing the game forever. She wants to talk about dedication? What about breaking down doors and glass ceilings? That’s what she did. Willow would not be here without her. She respects Willow, but there is a difference between great, and being the greatest of all time.

The best part of her career was beating her, but losing will be the best thing to happen to her. Mercedes Mone’s legacy is all about winning. Willow says the last time they wrestled, she walked out a champion, and Mone didn’t walk out at all. Mercedes strikes her for the comment, so Willow picks her up and powerbombs her through the table.

#6. [Continental Championship] Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Dax Harwood – Winner: Kazuchika Okada

The Elite jumps on Dax Harwood after the match. Cash Wheeler and Bryan Danielson come to help, but the numbers are overwhelming. Darby Allin returns to AEW! He hits The Elite with his skateboard and helps Team AEW to fend them off. He will take Eddie Kingston’s place at Double Or Nothing in the Anarchy In The Arena match.
