AEW Dynamite Results (5/7/2025)

Hangman Page opens the show. After everything he has done, he doesn’t understand why anyone would cheer for him, but he just wanted to let everyone know it makes a difference. The past two years of being some kind of special hell. And after what happened to him and his family, he wanted justice and he found it. Page took the hopes and dreams of another man and almost killed him. After getting that revenge, he felt nothing.

He doesn’t know why, but since he couldn’t get closure, he bottled up his anger and unleashed it on others. In the end, he had to make a decision. He will never forget or forgive what Swerve Strickland did to him, but he had to put it behind him. After that, he entered the Owen Hart Cup and got to the final to face who many say is the best in the world today. Will Ospreay joins him in the ring.

He says through all the promotions they have been in together, this is the first time they have talked, and it is a pleasure to meet The Hangman. One of his favorite times of Page’s career was when he lead the Dark Order and won the World title. But it wasn’t long after losing it that his life went downhill. He has been through a lot, but he did something recently. Page smiled, and he hadn’t done that in a long time.

While Ospreay would love for him to conquer his demons, but he isn’t winning this tournament. This isn’t about Page’s redemption… this is about Ospreay’s ascension. Don Callis interrupts this to stir the pot. Ospreay tries to get Page on his side to team together against any two guys of the Don Callis Family, but there is clearly a lot of tension.

#1. [AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator] Toni Storm vs. Thunder Rosa vs. Penelope Ford vs. Anna Jay – Winner: Toni Storm via submission

The Hurt Syndicate wants to know where the tag teams are to challenge them? Where’s the competition? Top Flight appears. They know they are the underdogs in this scenario, but they have proven that they can hold their own against top level teams, so they will give it their all. As Top Flight is about to enter the ring, MJF blindsides them and viciously destroys them. He gets in the ring and tells Bobby Lashley to his face that he is MJF, and he hurts people. With a smile on his face, Lashley will give him his answer next week.

The Death Riders were waiting for The Young Bucks in the Elite’s lockerroom, but they won’t let us know what they are talking about.

#2. Nick Wayne (w/ The Patriarchy) vs. Rhino – Winner: Nick Wayne

The match wasn’t a squash, but it was short enough for the fans to chant “BS”. Christian Cage refused to put the ROH TV title around Wayne’s waist.

#3. The Young Bucks & Ricochet vs. Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe & “Speedball” Mike Bailey – Winners: Young Bucks & Ricochet

MJF interrupts Will Ospreay’s interview with Renee Paquette, not only to plug the Dynamite Diamond Ring on the merchandise website, but to let him know what he thinks. Ospreay isn’t having any of it, though, as he reminds him who came out on top when they last wrestled. Also, while MJF is on the “level of the devil”, Ospreay is on a whole other level.

Jamie Hayter talks with Renee Paquette. She will be damned if Owen Hart’s legacy is represented by Mercedes Mone, who is the opposite of what he represented. True, she doesn’t have her star power or match catalogue, but she does have integrity and grit. Mercedes is looking past her, and… Mercedes suddenly attacked Jamie. They quickly run and fight to ringside. Hayter gets the upper hand, so Mercedes runs away. As Jamie looks confident while talking to the camera, Mone returns, knocks her down and locks in a submission.

Before the match, Kevin Knight is attacked by Rush and Dralistico. Mike Bailey made the save, but the damage is sufficient enough for the referee to ask if he wants to start the match. Despite barely being able to stand, Knight accepts the match.

#4. Kazuchika Okada vs. Kevin Knight – Winner: Kazuchika Okada

#5. Samoa Joe vs. Claudio Castagnoli – Winner: Samoa Joe via submission

The Death Riders make their way to the ring, but stop in their tracks when Powerhouse Hobbs joins Samoa Joe with a steel chair. They each take a turn at dishing out punishment to Claudio Castagnoli, while Jon Moxley can do nothing but watch.
