AEW Dynamite Results (7/3/2024)

#1. [Owen Hart Tournament Semi Final] Pac vs. Bryan Danielson – Winner: Bryan Danielson

Mark Briscoe gets in the ring to cut a promo. He announces his participation in the Blood & Guts match as a member of Team AEW against The Elite. As he talks, Jack Perry blindsides Briscoe by hitting him with the TNT title. Kyle O’Reilly makes the save, only to eat the Rainmaker finisher by Kazuchika Okada. The Young Bucks join them to hit the EVP Trigger on Briscoe. The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass show up, so The Elite leaves the ring to retreat.

#2. [Owen Hart Tournament Semi Final] Kris Statlander (w/ Stokely Hathaway) vs. Willow Nightingale – Winner: Willow Nightingale

Britt Baker returns to AEW Dynamite. Tony Schiavone hands her a microphone. Baker says she missed everyone. She thought way too long about what she was going to say, but she’s just going to talk about three things. The past, the present, and the future. For the past ten months, the story was that she was injured. Back in November, she was banged up and mentally running on empty.

One day, she started feeling really sick. Britt was feeling dizzy, and something didn’t feel right. She couldn’t open a bottle of water, and her right side wasn’t working. She had suffered a mini stroke, so she told Tony Khan she had to stay home and get good. Now in the present, she is cleared and healthy. But she was more nervous than anything on Sunday night. She didn’t know if anyone was going to give a damn about her return.

The fear of rejection is often worse than the rejection itself. When she needed All Elite Wrestling, and all the fans, they welcomed her back with open arms. She will always be in their corner for that. In the future, we all possess the impulse to be elite. And speaking of that, she has heard they have a new female face of AEW. It must be so rewarding for her. She worked so hard to earn those three letters of CEO. We don’t need music to tell her the only three letters that matter in this company.

Mercedes Mone shows up to the arena with her two titles, and The Young Bucks congratulate her. The championship celebration for Mercedes Mone is about to begin while Britt Baker is in the ring. The champion dances her way to the ring and is handed a microphone. Mone wants Baker to have a good look at what a real star looks like. Baker wants Mone at All In. Mercedes disrespects her and tells her to get to the back of the line. Baker doesn’t see no line.

Backstage, Will Ospreay respectfully asks Don Callis to cut ties from the family. He wouldn’t usually, but Don is fine with that, and he is proud of what they have done.

In the ring, Chris Jericho tells Taz that he has an executive order from the EVPs to replace him on commentary and have him escorted out of the arena by security.

#3. Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata & Hook vs. Cage Of Agony – Winners: Joe, Shibata & Hook

The Learning Tree attacks Joe, Shibata and Hook. Big Bill chokeslams Hook through a table.

#4. [Owen Hart Tournament First Round] Jeff Jarrett vs. ‘Hangman’ Adam Page – Winner: Adam Page

#5. [AEW International Championship] Will Ospreay (c) vs. Daniel Garcia (w/ MJF) – Winner: Ospreay retains

Before going to the back, Ospreay consoles an upset Garcia. MJF shows Garcia some respect, but then he low blows Garcia! MJF viciously destroys Garcia and Matt Menard. Security and officials try to stop him, but to no avail. Ospreay returns and gets in the ring, but MJF retreats. The show ends with Garcia being stretchered out by the EMTs.
