Triple H opens the show. He thanks the crowd. WrestleMania XL was the biggest ever, so he simply came out here to say thank you. On Saturday, he has the privilege of welcoming everyone on WrestleMania, and tonight he has the privilege of welcoming everyone to Monday Night RAW. This is a new era. He introduces the man who will lead us in to the new era. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Cody Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes grabs a microphone. Before he leaves, Triple H congratulates him. He ended one of the longest title reigns of all time. Tonight, they have set a record gate. After WrestleMania finished, he got a call from some guys who have made something special for him. A special video package plays in tribute to Cody Rhodes’ rise to the top. Afterward, Cody gives Triple H a hug.
Cody heard something. Samantha? He is sure she knows what he is going to ask. She announces him as the new champion. Cody then talks about Roman Reigns. He acknowledges what he has done. Perhaps he is the most important superstar of this generation, and he was the man destined to defeat him.
When you get in to wrestling, you are asked why. Why are you doing this? He plays a clip of his daughter asking her father to finish the story. He needs her to know that when he goes to work, he goes to work in the main event. Cody is so used to standing in line, but now the line is for him. He is the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. The Rock’s music plays.
The fans chant “Undertaker” at The Rock. He tries to speak, but the fans keep booing him. They tell him to “Shut The F*** Up”. Finally, The Rock says he is a lot of things, but sucks is not one of them. The Rock came out here to deliver flowers to Cody Rhodes, and to tell Philadelphia they set the record for the biggest amount of trailer trash. He did it. Cody completed the story. All the stuff he had to overcome, and he still did it all. Mama Rhodes was proud of her boy. Do you know who else had a big smile? His daddy in heaven. Dusty Rhodes was The Rock’s hero. His dad and Dusty were good friends.
The Rock reminds people what his People’s Championship means, before asking if there is anyway he can hold Cody’s title. Rhodes says he will allow it, so long as he can hold his. They exchange belts. The Rock puts the title on his shoulder and says it feels right. He has to go away for a little while now. The Rock loves professional wrestling. Just remember, when The Rock comes back, whether he is champion or not, he is coming back for him.
Cody Rhodes says he is looking forward to it. His story with Roman Reigns is over. But his story with The Rock has just begun. Cody says that he may be his boss, but he is his champion. The Rock accepts that. The Rock hands Cody something out of his pocket, before saying not to break his heart again. If you smell what the Final Boss is cooking.
After the break, some members of the Judgment Day are in the ring. Finn Balor tells all the doubters they were wrong. Dominik Mysterio introduces Rhea Ripley. She says WrestleMania was almost perfect, but two things came out of it. Like Mami is always on top. The other one being that this is a new era for the Judgment Day. The new World Heavyweight Champion makes his entrance.
Damian Priest says they stand as World Champions. They always rise to the occasion. The whole world needs to follow suit and rise for the Judgment Day. R-Truth appears with his RAW Tag Team Championship, because he wanted to bring it back to the group. He talks about them possibly bringing in… The Miz makes his entrance. He tells Truth he doesn’t want to be in the Judgment Day. The Miz introduces The Awesome Truth as the new tag team champions. Finn Balor thinks it is funny that they will have the shortest title reign.
R-Truth wants to have a 6-man tag against Judgment Day, with him, The Miz, and the guy they can’t see. The Miz would much prefer to see their partner. Truth attempts to introduce the guy, but the Judgment Day attacks them. We go to commercial break.
*John Cena showed up in the middle of the match to be The Awesome Truth’s partner.
Rhea Ripley tells Dominik to sort out the Andrade problem, so he goes to talk to Adam Pearce. Liv Morgan blindsides Rhea Ripley! She attacks her until officials break it up.
Sami Zayn makes his way to the ring and gets a warm reception. He gives Gunther all the respect in the world for his 666 day title reign. He is without a doubt the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time… and he beat him. But he didn’t do this alone. The fans and Kevin Owens helped a lot, but there is one other guy.
Imperium enters without Gunther. Ludwig Kaiser praises his leader for everything he did for the title, and it breaks his heart to see someone like Sami Zayn holding that championship. He looks just like all of these peasants in Philadelphia. Congratulations WWE Universe. Your new IC Champion looks like a bum. On behalf of the ring general, they are here to make this right. Chad Gable rushes to Sami’s side before they can do anything.
Chelsea Green interrupts Adam Pearce, Nick Aldis and Ava while they are talking. She is upset to be left off WrestleMania. Pearce got her messages, so he has set up a match for her tonight. Chelsea is ready to have her big moment.
Sami Zayn has a word with Chad Gable. He offers him a shot at the Intercontinental Championship for next week, and Gable readily accepts.
Drew McIntyre enters and grabs a microphone. What happened last night was utter BS. Five minutes and 46 seconds. That is how long his moment lasted. Damian Priest screwed it up. The Money In The Bank briefcase is a joke. It cheapened everything he and Seth Rollins did. After tonight, the belt belongs to Drew McIntyre. And it wasn’t Priest who caused this… it was that prick, CM Punk. The second he took his eyes off him, he attacked him like a coward. When he sees him… Jey Uso interrupts McIntyre. The main event is up next.
