WWE RAW (5/27/2024)
Gunther opens the show by celebrating his King Of The Ring victory, but he quickly moves on to Damian Priest. He says Priest took a shortcut to win his title. Damian Priest enters to confront him. He earned the Money In The Bank contract in a ladder match, and there are things he could teach him. Gunther says he doesn’t know much about the business. He is waiting for someone to teach him anything after the bell rings. If Priest is still champion before SummerSlam, he can give him a business lecture either before, or after, when he will be addressed as World Heavyweight Champion. Drew McIntyre arrives to interrupt the conversation.
Gunther isn’t interested, so he leaves the ring. McIntyre says he is trying to help Priest. He is trying to life him up. Judgment Day is screwed up left and right. Ever since Mami got hurt, the group has gone to hell. He needs to start focusing on what’s important. When they get to Clash At The Castle, the Scottish fans will team him apart. Priest laughs it off. He has made a living off proving people wrong. The champion mentions McIntyre’s wife, which gets him heated. He doesn’t do anything, though, because Braun Strowman shows up. He has a scheduled match with JD McDonagh.
#1. Braun Strowman vs. JD McDonagh (w/ Judgment Day) – Winner: Braun Strowman
Carlito and Finn Balor attack Strowman after the match, but the monster fights back. McDonagh hits him with a chair, but it does not faze him, so JD runs away.
Earlier in the day, Ilja Dragunov checked up on Ricochet after being speared by Bron Breakker. Ricochet wanted a rematch with Dragunov, which Adam Pearce allowed because he is medically cleared.
#2. Ricochet vs. Ilja Dragunov – Winner: No Contest
The match ends when Bron Breakker spears Ricochet, and then Ilja Dragunov. He is supposed to be suspended. Adam Pearce gets in the ring and tells him to leave. Breakker starts walking out, but glares at Pearce when he gets too close. The General Manager backs off some.
Karrion Kross keeps trying to recruit Xavier Woods to the Final Testament, but he needs to cut the New Day crap first. Woods isn’t interested, so Kross believes they will have to do this the hard way.
#3. The Creed Brothers (w/ Ivy Nile) vs. Authors Of Pain (w/ Final Testament) – Winner: AOP
Sheamus enters the ring to talk to the fans. He sends a message to Ludwig Kaiser. He’s back fella! And he can’t wait to get his hands on him. Kaiser responds to him from backstage. Kaiser says he operates on his own terms, and he continues to ramble until Sheamus tells him to shut up. He makes his way to the back to fight Kaiser. Sheamus finds Kaiser and drags him out to the ringside area to fight, but officials rush in to split them up.
#4. Kairi Sane (w/ Dakota Kai) vs. Lyra Valkyria – Winner: Lyra Valkyria
Damian Priest lets the Judgment Day know what he thinks. Dominik Mysterio finally shows up, and Priest tells him to fix what happened at King & Queen Of The Ring. Otherwise, he wouldn’t want to be in his shoes.
When Damage CTRL gets backstage, Iyo Sky loses her cool and breaks everything in their locker room before storming out.
#5. Rey Mysterio (w/ LWO) vs. Carlito – Winner: Rey Mysterio
Finn Balor comes to the aid of Carlito, but gets himself in to trouble, so Damian Priest reluctantly makes the save. He is noticeably angry with Balor and Carlito.
#6. Bronson Reed vs. Otis (w/ Chad Gable) – Winner: Bronson Reed
Chad Gable calls for an Alpha Academy meeting in the ring. He has been thinking all day about how he can get through to Otis. The only thing he can do is to give him discipline in front of the world. He takes his belt off, and tells Otis to hold the ring rope. Maxxine Dupri grabs Gable’s arm before he can lash Otis, so he tells her to get out and never come back.
Sami Zayn interrupts this. He steps in the ring and tells Gable he is weak, and whenever he gets an opportunity, he falls short. Zayn grabs his belt and throws it away. Gable tells Otis to step between them. Sami tells Otis to listen to the people. Do the right thing. Gable blindsides Zayn and a fight breaks out. Otis breaks it up, but distracts Sami enough for Gable to get the upper hand. After much hesitation, Otis decides to walk out with Gable and Tozawa.
#7. [Steel Cage Match for the Women’s World Championship] Liv Morgan (c) vs. Becky Lynch – Winner: Liv Morgan with an accidental assist from Dominik Mysterio
Finn Balor and JD McDonagh showed up to ask Dominik what he was doing with the steel cage door, but then Braun Strowman arrived. He ran around the ring and smashed in to Dominik, who accidentally pushed the steel cage door on to Becky Lynch’s face. This allowed Liv Morgan the time to escape through the door and retain her title.
